Intaglio Prints

The process of intaglio printing means to incise an image into a metal plate. This can be done with a metal tool (drypoint) or with acid (etching). In order to achieve tonal effects, an artist can use a method called aquatint. Often, I use a combination of all these techniques.
If I decide to hand tint my intaglio prints, you will find them under monoprints, which signifies that some element of the print can be reproduced, but that other characteristics are original to that print only.

                                         Loma de Luz

The title of this etching is the name of a hospital outside
Balfate, Honduras. I participated in a mission trip at this
location in Spring of 2004. The sales of this hand-pulled,
limited edition etching will be donated toward future
Honduran Mission Team Projects and Charities, such
as A Bed for Every Child and Helping Honduras Kids.

                                 Prince of Peace

                                           TBA

Prince of Peace contains both etching and drypoint.
It is meant to resemble both a religious icon and a
playing card juxtaposing the traditional and the modern.
For me, Jesus is the ultimate trump card of the hand I've
          been dealt.
